Launch event of the New Material Testing Laboratory of the Department in Foligno
Great interest and participation for the inauguration of the of the New Materials Testing Laboratory of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICA) of the University of Perugia, which took place on Friday 25 January 2019 in Foligno. The laboratory, financed by the Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno Foundation and strengthened within the development project of the Department of Excellence, will carry out experimental research, but also maintenance of structures and infrastructures - such as roads, bridges and viaducts - and support post-earthquake reconstruction, thanks to the strategic position in which it is located, as the authorities pointed out during the presentation. As an official laboratory it will also be a reference point for engineers and techniciants in the design and construction of new buildings and the restoration of existing ones. The presentation was followed by a guided tour in which the machines of the laboratory and the main research lines that the Department is developing were illustrated. |
